Why did Emily from The Devil Wears Prada had an awful style?

 Emily Charlton is a very passionate girl. She was the assistant of Editor-in-Chief Miranda Priestley in Runway Magazine, published by Elias-Clark Company, before Andy Sachs took the role.

The Devil Wears Prada was released in 2006 and was adapted from a book with the same title. Meryl Streep played The Ice Queen Miranda Priestley, Anna Hathaway played Andy Sachs, and Emily Blunt played Emily Charlton. The characters were said to have been inspired by the writer's experience working at Vogue Magazine. Lauren, the writer, heavily characterized Miranda Priestley, as she was the former assistant of the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour. 

Emily Charlton, played by Emily Blunt, is a young, pretty girl, but what I noticed was her bad styling. The character had a bold personality; her style would often be chic and experimental outfits. But Emily was the only girl who deserved to go to Paris. After re-watching the film after a long time, I realised that Emily did have a bad style; fashion influenced her. Emily's character was predominantly mean all the time, and she often judged Andy's style. Remember the blue sweater that everyone made a fuss about, and Miranda gave her a whole speech on how she should care about her sense of style instead of just putting her a 'pile of stuff'. Andy clearly didn't have any knowledge of fashion, as she clearly stated at the beginning of the movie, but her makeover was spectacular. Emily had fashion FOMO, and she desperately wanted to go to Paris, but she couldn't. I feel so bad for her. She was dieting, and that literally turned her Anorexic to lose weight. However, Emily's sense of style was questionable enough as she would often wear heels while running here and there. She wore heels even after her accident with a fractured leg, which was way worse. But I would guarantee Emily's sense of style would be a nightmare in real life, especially in a corporate world.
